Getting Started with Astrology

Your Guide to Start Learning Astrology

We'll show you the ropes so you can get up to speed in no time.

Whether you know a *little* astrology or nothing at all, we can help you learn the basics so that you feel confident in your foundations. From there you'll be able to attend any of our live webinars and start taking specialty courses without feeling lost.

We know learning astrology can be daunting when you take that first peek "behind the curtain" and see just how much information is available. Or that moment when you first see a birth chart and it looks like some mysterious geometry assignment from high school. The trick is picking up the basics in an order that makes sense so that you don't take on too much too fast.

That's where we come in. We've put together a couple of our favorite courses for new beginners, or those who already hit overwhelm and want to "get back to basics". Start with one (or both) of our two courses below. Students rave about both of them. So just go with the one you're drawn to first after reading the descriptions.

After you complete one of these two intro courses, schedule a free orientation session with us, and we'll help you figure out which course to take next based on your goals and interests.

We're so glad you found Astrology University. You're in good hands!

Practical Astrology for Beginners

This beginner astrology class with Kelly Surtees is the first step on your journey to interpret an astrology chart.

Starting at the very beginning, you'll learn two of the building block of astrology: the houses and signs. As the discussion unfolds you'll also learn the modes and elements. Along the way Kelly will introduce you to some of the major philosophies behind astrology to ground your understanding.

Kelly describes the houses as "the stage" and the signs as "the backdrop" of the birth chart. By the end of this course you’ll be able to demonstrate which houses are dominant in your own horoscope and understand how this impacts your life.

You will be able to determine which zodiac signs influence topics like your finances, relationships and career, and start to understand your natural responses in different situations.
