The four angles of the birth chart symbolize how we meet the world and take in experience, acting as gateways of consciousness. Every gateway has a gatekeeper who protects the territory that lies beyond. Astrologically these are the rulers of the angles, guardians of our deeper nature.
This lecture will explore the angles and the archetypal themes of thresholds and gatekeepers, with special attention dedicated to the threshold gods Hecate and Hermes. The aim of this talk is twofold—to get us thinking about the angles as thresholds that invite a particular attitude, and imagining into the ruling planetary gods of the angles as figures rather than static points or abstract ideas so that we can develop more conscious relationships with those figures.
By examining these themes we deepen our understanding of the role of the angles and their respective houses, and how our angle rulers hold the keys to cultivating these fields of life.
