Egyptian Decans – Star Gods of Time

$30.00

with Demetra George

Explore the ancient origins of the Egyptian decan stars as gods of time and how they developed into protectors against danger and illness. Attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, the earliest Greek astrological text that links the decans to zodiacal signs contains instructions for healing amulets based upon the birth chart. Learn what Greco-Egyptian astrologer-priests had to say about determining your body’s vulnerability and choosing the corresponding protective decan deity, plant, gem-stone, and dietary restriction.

This webinar includes a rich historical account of the origin of the decans as well as Demetra’s first-ever sharing of material she’s translated from the ancient text  The Sacred Book of Hermes to Asclepius.

If 5 Stars Are "Excellent", I'd Give This 10 Stars

The depth, knowledge, history, mythology, and magic, plus a clear, precise timeline. This webinar exceeded my high expectations of Demetra. It's like a college course essentialized to a couple hours, Extraordinary!

Finally! Some True Scholarship on the Decans

A truly impressive piece of scholarship amassed by Demetra George that documents the history of the Egyptian Decans and their uses in Egypt, as well as the later Hermetic text on their healing uses.

Scholarly and useful knowledge delivered well

The history of astrology is often overlooked to the detriment of the student This lecture traced the idea of the decans - now thought of as the three ten-degree segments of a Zodiac sign - back to the ancient Egyptians' decans which were based on rising stars not related to the Zodiac constellations or signs at all. Walking it forward step by step, Demetra showed clearly how astrology evolves over time and by merging disparate traditions as cultures come in contact or blend with others. There was a particular example focused on, too, which comes from an ancient book that shared the process for creating a talisman, enhanced by the use of herbs and stones, for constitutional weaknesses indicated by a particular decan associated with the birth chart.
