We will gather together in person near the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains to delve into the healing potential of the Moon through a variety of perspectives.
We will explore the “dark Moon” through its balsamic cycle, difficult aspects to the natal Moon, and developmental conditioning as seen through the Moon in the 12 signs.

Parking is easily available and the venue is wheelchair accessible. Registration does not include meals or lodging.

Getting to the venue: Fly into the Denver airport and catch a bus or shuttle or rent a car to Longmont (about 45 min. from the airport).
The venue is near a major shopping area and restaurants. Longmont offers beautiful views of the adjacent mountains and has several walking trails, as well as easy access by car to the foothills of the mountains and to Rocky Mountain National Park (about a 50 minute drive to the park entrance).
Cancellation Policy: Your registration is refundable (less a 4% credit card fee) through June 15, 2024. You may receive a partial refund less a $200 admin fee between June 15 and August 1. After August 1, your registration is non-refundable (but you will receive audio recordings of the event). Your registration is 100% refundable if WE cancel the event for any reason.
Level: Speakers will cover a range of material well suited to intermediate+ students or beginners who have been studying for at least 6 months. New beginners are welcome to attend after taking our Intro to Astrological Symbols course or Luminaries course, which will help get you up to speed.

Demetra George
Senior INSTRUCTOR
Demetra George received her Masters degree in Classics from the University of Oregon, where she was also an instructor. She has been active in astrology since 1971, and in 2002 she received the renowned Regulus Award in Theory and Understanding.
Specializing in archetypal mythology and ancient techniques, she is the author of several classic astrology books including Asteroid Goddesses, Astrology for Yourself, Mysteries of the Dark Moon, Finding Our Way through the Dark, and Ancient Astrology in Theory and Practice.
Lynn Bell
SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
Lynn Bell is a Paris-based astrologer whose work emphasizes the psychological and healing dimensions of astrology. In the 1990s she taught at the Centre for Psychological Astrology, founded by Liz Greene and Howard Sasportas. Lynn lectures and teaches seminars around the world and has had a vibrant astrology consulting practice for many years.
Outside the world of astrology, she collaborates with Caroline Myss and her CMED Institute. She has been part of the faculty of the New Chartres School hosted in Chartres, France by Wisdom University. Lynn is the author of Planetary Threads and Cycles of Light.
Kelly Surtees

Kelly Surtees is a popular counselling astrologer and inspiring teacher. With more than 15 years in private practice, Kelly is experienced, warm, friendly and insightful.
Kelly’s passion for astrology is infectious, and her intention with every course is to help students like you deepen their understanding of astrology.
Kelly teaches with a traditional toolkit while grounding ancient practice into a modern framework. Kelly’s insight and knowledge is matched by her skill as a clear, accessible teacher.
Mark Jones

Mark Jones is an astrologer, psychosynthesis therapist and author based in Bristol, England. Mark is a regular speaker and workshop leader in North America, Europe and Australia.
His first book Healing the Soul: Pluto, Uranus and the Lunar Nodes is an excellent introduction to his work as an evolutionary astrologer. His second book The Soul Speaks: The Therapeutic Potential of Astrology, explores the transformative power of the natal chart reading while offering invaluable counseling skills to astrologers.

Demetra George: The Dark of the Moon – Exploring the Balsamic Cycle
Each month, as the Moon Goddess retreated into her dark balsamic phase of invisibility, it was thought to be her secret time when she performed her greatest mysteries.
The progressed phases Sun/Moon lunation cycle illuminates the rhythm of how our evolving life purpose unfolds over the course of our lives in three 30-year cycles from emergence to fulfillment to completion, each successive round going deeper into the underlying significance of our soul’s intention. Every thirty years, everyone, at a different age, passes through a 3 ½ year progressed Balsamic dark moon lunation phase, before beginning the next round striving towards self-realization.
On an ordinary level, this transition is often marked by loss of identity, relationships, work, home, and clear direction. However, when viewed through the lens of night vision, these liminal intervals are rich with spiritual and metaphysical insights, psychological soul work, creative potential, and regenerative healing. Identify your balsamic periods and reframe these dark nights of the soul as completion and emptying out before new possibilities can emerge calling you into your future.
You will learn to determine the dates of your progressed balsamic phases, explore your own transitional times of endings and new beginnings, and have the opportunity to discuss and share your insights and questions.
Lynn Bell: The Healing Gateway of Challenging Lunar Aspects
Mark Jones: The Moon as the Key to Unlocking Intimacy
Mark will explore the crucial role of the Moon in the formation of the personal self. He begins by describing how the Moon is the “home” for the early childhood self to safely develop and grow, with the early parental bond laying the foundation for all future connections with others.
Sufficient childhood damage will see people erect fundamental barriers to intimacy, either by avoiding it altogether or by constructing such rigid barriers in relationships that their partner cannot reach them. Thus, we can see how the young developing self becomes a filter on our future relationships.
Having arrived at an in-depth understanding of the Moon and its formative power, Mark shows how integrating this insight into our astrological understanding increases the chances of us helping our clients and ourselves heal.
The workshop will include: An analysis of the Moon through the twelve signs; a concise breakdown of developmental psychology in a way that is most useful for astrologers; detailed examples of the impact of the Moon on relationships and the revelation of the power of the Moon’s nodes to shape the experience of the natal Moon.
Kelly Surtees: Energy, Focus and Flow – How the Moon’s Aspects Condition Your Experience
Why are the aspects of the Moon so important? Kelly will explore the Moon from some technical vantage points, including applying versus separating and sect. What if the Moon is void of course or makes no major aspects? Discover how the lunar aspects in night charts take on added importance.
