The MC and IC form the vertical axis of the chart, linked inextricably to the 10th and 4th houses and showing the interplay between private and public life. The IC is the taproot into our ancestry, reflecting the ground of family life, as well as the foundations and security we need to create for ourselves as adults. The MC is our pole star, pointing us towards vocational choices – our path in the outer world, away from the safety of home and family but built on its foundation.
This webinar will explore the natural tensions between these two angles of the birth chart, including the dynamics of the parental relationship and how what we are rooted in can both support and challenge our efforts to follow our calling. We will look at the meaning of the IC and MC in turn, encompassing the complex around each that is formed from the sign, its planetary ruler, and aspects to it, as well as how these two points work together as an integrated axis. We will also look at what happens under transits to these points, as catalysts for change and reorientation in our lives.
