with Karen Hamaker-Zondag
In classical astrology it was traditionally very important to know the power of a planet. There are several systems in which the placement in sign is central, supplemented by the placement in house, and several forms of dispositors. In modern psychological astrology this system has continued to exist in a slimmed-down form, and has acquired an additional meaning, mainly psychological. It is this system that explains why for example not every Mars square Saturn works the same, and why Mars in Libra might not be nice for the planet Mars but can be very nice for the person having this Mars in their chart.
It is a very useful tool to understand hidden powers (the so called ‘maximum planet’) and creative ways of being different, in a nonjudgemental way of looking at a chart. We will look at the technique and the logic behind it, and of course Karen will illustrate it with examples.
