The Quincunx: Blindspots and Breakthroughs

This classic lecture introduces students to the main theory behind the quincunx, an aspect of adjustment because of the two signs that are trying to relate with each other.

The Quincunx and the Yod

Quincunxes are a silent aspect, often manifesting as tension or discomfort, a misfit energy that is not easily integrated. This can also lead to a particular one-sidedness, the overdevelopment of certain tendencies in the psyche. More than any other aspect, it seems to require a change in the level an energy is deployed.

When two quincunxes come together in a yod, the energy released is multiplied exponentially and true change becomes possible. Whether there is a quincunx or yod in your chart or one is formed by transit, it can be useful to ask “How are you being asked to move and change?”

1 hr. 45 min. mp3 format. 2013.
(note: the recording quality on this second lecture varies due to the venue, however we’ve included it as a bonus for those of you who would like a thorough discussion of this topic that includes Lynn’s more recent work.)

Great insights on this mysterious aspect

Lynn Bell does a wonderful job deconstructing this aspect that I've always had a kind of hard time interpreting. She goes through the zodiac teasing out the quandary represented by the quincunxes to each sign. My Pisces Sun is in 2 different yods involving Pluto in Leo and these talks helped shed some light on how to work with the disparate energies of the planets harnessed to one another in these "fingers of God." The sound quality of the bonus talk is highly variable but the information shared makes it well worth a listen anyway.

Lynn is a source of inspiration

I like all of Lynns classes and listen to them again and again. She manages to teach without being boring and has a great sense of humor!

Working with the Quincunx

This is a very informative lecture - I wanted it to keep going as I sensed she had a lot more material. Let’s hope she writes a book. The sound wasn’t good in many parts though and some comments were missed as a consequence, which is why it gets 4 stars.

Comments on the Quincunx and the the Yod

Lynn Bell has done a splendid job, explaining clearly this difficult aspect and all the tension that it may create. My only regret is that it is audio only, and all the charts mentioned cannot be seen.
