Hellenistic Astrology Retreat: Time Lords
Discover Hellenistic timing techniques that have been uncovered in recent translations of ancient Greek and Latin astrological texts. During this five-day retreat intensive, we will delve into the predictive toolbox of the ancient astrologer and learn how to use the timing procedures of:
- Circumambulations through the Bounds
- Planetary Periods and Ascensional Times of the Signs
- Zodiacal Releasing from the Lots of Fortune and Spirit
- Annual Profections with the Solar Return Chart
These methods will enable you to look at the timing and quality of various periods in life that are marked by ease or difficulty. You can determine when the significations of planets and those of house topics such as such as vitality, marriage, children, profession, health, and wealth are activated.
Each day will include a combination of morning lecture and chart illustration followed by afternoon small group work, class presentations, practicing the techniques under supervision on your own chart, and ample time for your questions.
Pre-requisites: Demetra will teach this intensive at an intermediate/advanced level, assuming that each participant has a solid understanding of the core techniques of Hellenistic astrology and some experience in applying them to chart interpretation. It is highly recommended that you have taken Demetra’s Hellenistic Astrology courses on planetary condition and the houses. This could be through a combination of in-person and online versions of the courses: Hellenistic Planetary Condition (in-person as one retreat, or online as the two courses Planetary Condition Introduction and Planetary Condition Advanced) and Hellenistic Astrology: Interpreting the Houses (in-person or online version), or have equivalent knowledge of this material as presented in her books Ancient Astrology in Theory and Practice, Vols. 1 & 2.
In addition to Demetra’s support, a teaching assistant will be available to help answer your questions throughout the retreat in the afternoon sessions.

The venue is near a major shopping area and restaurants. Longmont offers beautiful views of the adjacent mountains and has several walking trails, as well as easy access by car to the foothills of the mountains and Rocky Mountain National Park (about a 50 minute drive to the park entrance).
Tony Howard will accompany any interested attendees for a hike on the stunning Long Lake Trail at Brainard Lake the day after the retreat (morning of June 18).

- Cancellation policy: Refundable less $100 admin fee through April 29. All registration payments made are non-refundable after April 30, 2024. Students who are forced to cancel after April 30 will receive all audio recordings, handouts and written material. Your registration fees are fully refundable if WE cancel the retreat.
