Cracks in the System: Saturn Squares Uranus

Tectonic  shifts, cracks in the system, often appear when Saturn and Uranus come into tense aspects.  Sometimes change goes too far and opposition forces rise up. We can see this as an archetypal battle between past and future, between control and freedom. A new energy is moving through the world and the old forms may not be able to withstand the upsurge.

There are many ways we already see the hard edges of these archetypal energies, since the aspect has been forming since early 2020. As the square  becomes more exact, early in 2021,  tensions rise up in our personal lives. We may feel we have lost control of events, but this aspect also brings  renewal, giving birth to new ideas, and a longing for freedom from the old ways.  As the old and the new wrestle and fall and rise again, where will we find ourselves?

Dreaming The Future Panel

With Kirah Tabourn, Mychal A. Bryan, Vanessa Montgomery, and Stormie Grace

Join us for a panel discussion where we look at the current societal trends as reflective of world transits and consider how we can work with these energies to create the future we want to see.

Dreaming the future begins by imagining what is possible. In this lively talk we’ll put some of our favorite ideas on the table for the year ahead based on the planetary shifts.

Where is the Knife? Mars Movements in Late 2020 (An Archetypal Perspective)

A sharp knife is useful for cutting away the bindings of time, habit, and oppression. It can be necessary when freeing ourselves from our own fear or complacency. In this time of mounting overwhelm, remember the red flame of Mars: courage and compassion that shines like the well-loved knife or the well-tended flame; what can it tell us? In this talk we will explore Mars in the context of late 2020 with an archetypal take on the retrograde cycle and square to Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto.

Keeping the Ghost Light On: Neptune and Our National Narrative in 2020 and Beyond

In the theatre there’s a tradition that someone leaves one light on near center stage so that a theatre is never completely dark whenever it’s empty.

While there are many stories about the origins of this “ghost light,” in essence it can be seen as a promise that everyone involved in a production will return with their skill, knowledge, imagination, and passion to light up the theatre again.

While the developmental pressure of the current Saturn-Pluto cycle has emptied our actual theatres and demanded a restaging of our personal and collective dramas, the oceanic power of transiting Neptune has also become very apparent in requiring us to come together by remaining separate.

In the USA Sibly chart, the tightest aspect is Mars square Neptune, and transiting Neptune in Pisces, aided and abetted by a solar eclipse in December, will continue to aspect that square well into 2023. Among the many manifestations of Neptune, at this time the light of imagination is central as an antidote to gaslighting, as we are being summoned to image-a-nation amidst both a pandemic and the most consequential election for generations to come. Pandemic and democracy both contain the Greek root demos—“people.” History has its eyes on us, the people, and the story we’re about to tell.

The Age of Eris

Growth doesn’t come easily. That is true for individuals, but it is true for nations as well. When humanity discovers a new planet, we are pressing out in the direction of new collective frontiers. Invariably, events arise synchronistically which push us toward our limits. We can see that reality reflected in the social changes around the discoveries of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. We are seeing it now. Eris was discovered in 2005, and ever since it was detected, the world has been in chaos. Eris’s current square aspect to Pluto has intensified the drama. If there is any single 100% reliable principle in astrology, it is that every planet has both a higher purpose and the deep shadow. What is humanity stretching to learn now in the Age of Eris? All the noise, violence, and hatred in the daily headlines derives fundamentally from our struggles – and our failures – to integrate the higher possibilities of this new planet. How can we get it right? How can astrologers help? What will it take to save the world?

Dancing The Choreography of the Collective Cycles

In 2020 the triple conjunction of Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto is mirroring a rapidly changing world in which nobody knows where we are heading to. The unfolding events are not caused by these planets, but by humans, countries, companies and organizations. My research has shown that those who have charts that resonate with the collective cycles tend to be part of the process, some as active, others as passive actors. As a researcher you have to step back and just look at both the astrology involved and what happens in the world, without any prejudice or judgement. In doing so you start to see fascinating connections and developments, and that is what I want to show you in this lecture.

CHRISTOF NIEDERWIESER

The Corona Crisis as a Bridge Into the Air Age

The Corona Crisis has brought a radical disruption to the world economy and our social systems. Extraordinary political measures aim to stabilize the situation and to slowly bring us back to normal. But the world will look completely different after the crisis. Currently we only see the constraints and reductions of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, indicating a new cycle of power.

But soon the royal gathering of Jupiter and Saturn will follow, shifting our society from 200 years of conjunctions in Earth elements to the Air Age. This will bring the transformation from the capitalistic consumer society to the postmodern knowledge society. How will spheres like work and economics,
technology, education, health care or art & architecture look like in the year 2050? And what role does the Corona Crisis play in this transformation process? The grand cycles of astrology give fascinating answers…

Tectonic Shifts: A Look at the Challenges of 2021 through the Eyes of Uranus

As the putative planet of revolution and unpredictability treads beyond the first decan of Taurus, what can we expect? What’s the special message for those born between 1981-1988? Uranus in Taurus also makes three powerful squares with stodgy Saturn in 2021 while in Aquarius, a sign said to be ruled by both planets. What are some specific issues and challenges that we might face at that time? Reynolds will address these questions and more in his hour-long talk.

An Astro Forecast for Europe

The countries that make up the continent of Europe have altered many times in the last thousand years. The Treaty of Rome in 1957, marked a defining moment in Europe’s development as a bloc of friendship and understanding. As Pluto moves into Aquarius in 2023, and Neptune moves to Aries (2025) , whilst both Sedna (2024) and Uranus (2025) move into Gemini, that chart is under considerable pressure. In the wake of Brexit – and perhaps other ‘exits’, new deals will be necessary. Meanwhile Solar Cycle 2025 heads to maximum. As many people from sub-Saharan Africa seek better lives to the North, what will this influx of human energy bring to a continent already struggling to navigate the challenges of these ingresses? This talk acknowledges the legacies of past ‘Europes’ and considers what lies ahead.

12 Possible New Kingdoms

In the great Jupiter/Saturn conjunction Saturn symbolizes the death or end of the old king, and Jupiter the reign of the new king.

Since this year’s conjunction will be the first one of a 200 year sequence of Jupiter/Saturn cycles in the element of air, we can say that this will also be the beginning of a new air “kingdom”. The ritual for the inauguration of the new kings reign “in air“ is usually called “coronation“…..))

Looking at an individual’s chart, the beginning of this new “kingdom“ can happen in one of the twelve astrological houses and possibly on one or more planets. How could we define the new chances and challenges that we could face looking at the position of the great conjunction in an individual birth chart?
