“By 1985, Rudhyar’s health was becoming more delicate. Rudhyar himself felt that he wanted another RITA conference which, it turned out, would be his final public appearance. He phoned me to say that he felt called to do so and he asked if I would help Leyla to organize it. I, of course agreed. This led to the 1985 RITA Conference which took place within weeks of Rudhyar’s 90th birthday. Sadly, Rudhyar passed in September of that year, so resonant with the autumnal theme which ran through much of his later work.
This conference, like the 1983 RITA Conference, was held at the Vallombrosa Retreat Center, and there were about 100 international attendees. However, this conference had a much more subdued, and even somber tone. It was clear that Rudhyar’s health was failing. His final lecture was titled, “The Seed: the presence of Wholeness in the midst of disintegration.” All of us there felt that we were the seeds of the Work of his life. The Rudhyar Audio Archives are one manifestation of that seeding.”

The Practice of Wholeness Through Astrology 
In this presentation Rudhyar discusses his process oriented approach to astrology and how the same principles apply to one’s life, and perhaps beyond. Rudhyar says “Astrology is a revelation of meaning” and compares the approach he innovated with more traditional approaches. He discusses how human life is a “moving toward” and how astrology can illumine the process.

Humanistic Astrology Network
This entertaining talk was presented by Alexander Ruperti, himself a student of Rudhyar, and author of Cycles of Becoming, a clear and well written explanation of the intertwining planetary cycles involved in the structure of life development. In this audio presentation, Ruperti looks back to 1936, to the very beginning of the Humanistic Astrology movement, marked by the publication of Rudhyar’s The Astrology of Personality. From there Ruperti traces the development of humanistic astrology, sharing his many memories, including his time during World War II when he spent long days translating Rudhyar into French.
